More science

for our science we had to get into groups and find a variable in a science experiment, here is mine:

what do you like about science?

math

for the pat term we have been going on a website from a mathematician called Jo Boaler. she tought us that if you have a fixed mind set you will give up easily but if you have an open mindset you will keep trying, she also told us about a girl that lost half of her brain but recovered.
They went outside and asked people questions sometimes.
Anyway thanks for coming to my blog, bye.

science

We had science this term and I would like to share it with you, here it is:

Do you enjoy science?

Reading

For reading this week we had to write some things about a story we are reading. I read a story about a kid who goes into a video game and has to save the world and give a crown to a woman.

what do you think? would you read the book?

narrative plan

Before we wrote our narrative stories we had to make a plan about what would happen in the story, here is mine

I had to cut out a lot of the story because I didn't have the time to write it all but anyway,
does this sound like an interesting story

volunteering

in week 7 we went volunteering, I went to the curtain bank. at the curtain bank we had to measure how long the second hand curtains were and put them in bags. It was kinda boring but we did it because we are good children. There aren't any photos that I can show you so I guess this is the end of this blog.
would you be good at folding curtains?

RE Ad

for our RE we had to make an advert about a gospel, my group made an ad about reconciliation, here it is:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w534MLQObs0&feature=share

did you think i was good at acting?

Sub artifact

for PBL we had to make a main artefact and a sub artefact, this was my sub artefact:

We dont have any other photos soooooooo
What do you think?

PBL planning

As you know we had PBL and for our PBL we had to plan what we would do, this was my planning document

What do you think? is this effective?

winter sport

For term 2 and 3 we have had winter sport. there are 4 different sports you can choose from, they were: netball, football, hockey and rugby.
I chose netball, I chose it because i had done football for the past 2 years and I was getting tired of it and I don't like hockey, also I'm to scrawny to play rugby.
in my netball team I played mostly in defence and I mostly had a good time.
I don't think I'll play it next year though.
What sport did you play?

narrative

for our work we had to write a story about the worlds problems, this was mine:
He woke up. For his people, sleep was not needed but it refreshed the body and relaxed the mind. His mother came into his room, she had been alerted by the alarm “good morning male offspring, I came to remove you from this place in which you choose to sleep” he got out of bed and he was naked as the humans called it, it meant that you had no garments of any sort to cover up what the humans found to be embarrassing. They didn’t wear the “clothes” that humans wore either, they had figured out some time ago that they were much more casual in a way that humans would find disgusting most likely.
His mother left the room and he got out of his bed and went downstairs to feed, another unnecessary but pleasurable sensation that they had discovered from the humans, he did not like it here on mars but the colonie leaders had chosen his district of life forms to be sent to mars and study Earth. Back at the colonie names were irrelevant and you were called “boy, girl, son, daughter, offspring or child” you could only have two offspring but as they studied the alien planet they discovered that there were no laws restricting any such things.

He ate his food and then went to do his work. He had worked hard by the end of the day but he had eaten his disco biscuit, a medication made to stop your muscles getting sore.
The sun was setting and they were having their late day meals as they saw a human ship flying over the atmosphere, it was huge, at least the size of a four story human building. "They aren't supposed to launch for another 3 months" Mother exclaimed. They saw the heat surrounding the ship as the metal turned red hot and there was a loud boom as the ship finally entered the atmosphere and started rocketing towards the land. His mother, sister and father put on their armoured suits and grabbed their rifles just as the parachutes burst out of the ship and it floated down, but the atmosphere on Mars was different than it was on Earth so as it went down the ship began to spin around and around, the parachutes slowed it down enough to stop the ship exploding on impact though. It landed near the research base and there was a painful sounding crunch as the ship touched down and the bottom quarter of the ship crumpled and compressed surely killing all the inhabitants of the bottom level.

They opened the oxygen hatch in their base and ran into the airlock, did all the safety procedures, and left out towards the wreck, hopping at excellent heights getting closer and closer, until… the humans let fire as we crossed over a ridge, their weapons from Earth were puny compared to the colonies advanced rifles that were made for planetary combat. The bullets soared right over their head because the humans had practised with guns that felt heavy, and now that they were weightless the gun were aimed up at an awkward angle. They fired their own rifles with heavily trained precision and decapitated the soldiers firing, completely disintegrating the heads and cauterising the stumps they had for necks. They jumped through the hole the humans had made to shoot out and looked at the ladder that lead to the 3rd floor, nothing happened so the started talking “why do you think they shot at us?” mother said, we waited for about a minute then father replied “it is likely the fact that we are holding rifles ourselves”.

They went up to the 3rd floor silently and found that the only reason the guards survived was that they were strapped into their seats, it was a bloodbath, as they walked around the thick red liquid began trickling down the ladder from where they came. There were bodies everywhere and they all looked like they had been in a blender for five minutes. There were folded over seats like wet towels on a clothesline, there were skulls smashed open from hitting the walls too hard, there were limbs bent at unimaginable angles beginning to turn grey and green from gangrene. They checked the other levels and found them all the same. On the 5th floor they saw a control panel and on it the words were blazing: HOSTILE ALIEN LIFE FORMS. On a loud speaker they heard a human voice yelling that the earth was dead and asking is anyone survived, they wondered why it said that so they started back to the base to talk about it, but on the way back they heard a loud crack behind them, they turned and saw another ship entering the atmosphere, this one had seen the fight and the guns were firing already…

What do you think of my story?

invitation

For our PBL we had to make an invite to the presentation and this was my one:

would you come down? hopefully not.

PBL

Our PBL was making a house that could hold 24 people, this is what we made

the first floor has a kitchen and a table which can fit 24 people at it and the second floor has entertainment rooms.
each floor has 6 bedrooms and each bedroom can fit 2 people.

what would you think of living here? what would be the pros and cons?

free choice

Hi, for my free choice blog I'm gonna talk about giraffe facts

Here they are:
  1. Giraffes are the tallest mammals on Earth. Their legs alone are taller than many humans—about 6 feet.
  2. They can run as fast as 55 kilometres an hour over short distances, or cruise at 17 kilometres per hour over longer distances.
  3. A giraffe's neck is too short to reach the ground. As a result, it has to awkwardly spread its front legs or kneel to reach the ground for a drink of water.
  4. Giraffes only need to drink once every few days. Most of their water comes from all the plants they eat.
  5. Giraffes spend most of their lives standing up; they even sleep and give birth standing up.
  6. The giraffe calf can stand up and walk after about an hour and within a week, it starts to sample vegetation.
  7. Despite the females’ attempts to stand over their calves during attacks by lions, spotted hyenas, leopards and African wild dogs, many calves are killed in their first few months.
  8. A giraffe’s spots are much like human fingerprints. No two individual giraffes have exactly the same pattern.
  9. Both male and female giraffes have two distinct, hair-covered horns called ossicones. Male giraffes use their horns to sometimes fight with other males.
  10. Giraffes only need 5 to 30 minutes of sleep in a 24-hour period! They often achieve that in quick naps that may last only a minute or two at a time.
  11. Whilst it was thought that giraffes did not make any sounds, this is now known to be untrue, as giraffes bellow, snort, hiss and make flute-like sounds, as well as low pitch noises beyond the range of human hearing.
there are all the facts I know.
